A Few Haiku

By the big window,
Reading a familiar book,
Not in a hurry.

Headlights pull up slow.
Headlights turn off, silence,
Town lights glow below.

A mosquito squirms
In the dragonfly’s death grip.
Fuck you, mosquito.

That place in the dark
Where humans suffer and bleed,
That is where we love.
